Obama’s DOJ To Circumvent Congress With ‘More Than A Dozen’ New Gun Controls

Obama’s Department of Justice is working on “more than a dozen” new gun control regulations it plans to begin implementing apart from Congress. Some of the regulations are set to be put in place by November, others simply by the end of the Obama administration.

According to The Hill, “the regulations range from new restrictions on high-powered pistols to gun storage requirements” and the issuance of “new rules expanding criteria for people who do not quality for gun ownership.”

Part and parcel to this new “criteria” will be an ATF-implemented ban on gun ownership for anyone “convicted of a misdemeanor domestic violence.” Gun Owners of America’s Michael Hammond warns that under this rule the person barred from gun ownership “could be [someone] who spanked his kid, or yelled at his wife, or slapped her husband.”

The new regulations will also include ATF enlargements on mental health-based gun ownership bans. Hammond summed this up by saying, “The Obama administration is trying very hard to disqualify people from owning a gun on the basis that they are seeing a psychologist.” And the NRA pointed out that because most mentally ill persons pose no threat to society, the new regulations will actually become “snares [for] masses of mostly harmless individuals.”

FK – My standard response to such: Act politically but prep for what history shows will have to be done. It’s way past time to prep for what will be required.

Cuomo and his anti-gun allies in Albany exploited the horrors of the Sandy Hook School disaster to ram through the NY SAFE—a gun control “kitchen sink” bill that was jammed full of absurd, inaccurate, often unenforceable provisions—and has been fighting a defensive battle ever since. Many upstate law enforcement officers have publicly stated their refusal to enforce the draconian law, and many gun owners reacted by refusing to comply with “assault weapon” registration requirements.

The vast majority of gun owners felt that this registration attempt was a possible prelude to a future confiscation effort. Non-compliance is thought to be stunningly high, something in excess of the estimated 90-percent non-compliance rate for registration in neighboring Connecticut. These are truly “just paper” laws which the citizenry has brazenly ignored, and which the state law enforcement agencies in both states dare not attempt to aggressively enforce for legitimate fears that they could trigger a violent insurrection.

Feds issued 2K expanded immigration permits after court order

The government “erroneously” doled out about 2,000 expanded immigrant work permit authorizations under President Obama’s controversial executive actions, even after a federal judge blocked the move, the Justice Department says.

“The Government sincerely regrets these circumstances and is taking immediate steps to remedy these erroneous three-year terms,” the Department of Justice wrote in a court advisory filed late Thursday in the Southern District of Texas.

The advisory comes after District Court Judge Andrew Hanen halted the implementation of the executive actions, which defer deportations for immigrants living in the U.S. illegally and provide them with expanded access to work permits, until the courts could decide whether the policies are constitutional.

While the old policies authorize a two-year renewal of work permits under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, the new program would allow for a three-year renewal.

The DOJ added in the advisory that the Department of Homeland Security is “converting” the three-year renewals into two-year terms and that DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson has asked the agency’s inspector general to investigate.

The Second Amendment Foundation is disappointed that federal Judge Benjamin H. Settle today dismissed without prejudice our lawsuit challenging provisions of Initiative 594, the 18-page gun control measure passed in Washington State last November.

However, SAF founder and Executive Vice President Alan M. Gottlieb noted that in reaching his decision, Judge Settle acknowledged that “The Court is sympathetic to Plaintiffs in that one must actually be prosecuted or under actual or immediate threat of prosecution before the Court may address the constitutionality of a statute.” The judge further observed that “the fairness of this rule may definitely be questioned…”

“It is mind boggling that a law-abiding citizen evidently must put their civil rights, not to mention their clean criminal record, at risk before a court can rule whether a law is constitutional,” Gottlieb observed. “It is definitely unfair, and we believe every American will think it unfair that someone has to be chained and incarcerated before they are allowed to challenge an attack on their constitutional rights.

A formal investigation has been launched into an advertisement for Protein World after a campaign asking viewers if they were “beach body ready”.

The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) confirmed it had launched an investigation to establish whether the advert breaks harm and offense rules or is socially irresponsible.

The advert has also been banned from appearing again in its current form.

The ASA said: “We’ve met with Protein World to discuss its “Are you beach body ready?” ad campaign.

“It’s coming down in the next three days and, due to our concerns about a range of health and weight loss claims made in the ad, it can’t appear again in its current form.

“Although the ad won’t appear in the meantime, we’ve launched an investigation to establish if it breaks harm and offence rules or is socially irresponsible.

Loretta Lynch was sworn in as the 83rd Attorney General of the United States on Monday.

Lynch is an extreme, anti-gun advocate who supports reenacting the so-called “Assault Weapons” ban which sunset in 2004.

While every Democrat supported her, the Republicans listed below cast their support, as well. For starters, every Senator below — both bolded and non-bolded — voted to break the filibuster against her nomination.

A Catholic priest has told his parishioners to carry guns – warning that faith alone is not enough to keep them safe.

Edward Fride, the pastor at Christ the King in Ann Arbor, Michigan, suggested churchgoers attend classes to gain a concealed pistol license.

In a pro-gun letter to parishioners, he warned that crime had gone up in the area while budget cuts meant that there had been a ‘significant reduction in the availability of an armed police response.’
