Army to Recruiters: Avoid Civilians Who Volunteer to Guard, Report Them

On July 20, a policy letter from the U.S. Army Recruiting Command (USAREC) instructed recruiters to avoid contact and/or conversation with armed “law-abiding” civilians who volunteer to guard recruitment centers and to report said volunteers to law enforcement “if the recruiter feels threatened.”

Stars and Stripes responded to the letter with a July 22 headline that read, “Army To Recruiters: Treat Armed Citizens As Security Threat.”

According to Stars and Stripes, the letter came at the beginning of a week in which citizens were organizing to stand guard at recruitment stations throughout the country: “Armed citizens — some associated with activist groups and militias — were standing vigil outside recruiting centers in Wisconsin, Georgia, Tennessee, Idaho and elsewhere this week, saying they want to provide protection to service members barred from carrying firearms on duty.”

The volunteerism follows last week’s heinous attack on military offices in Chattanooga, Tennessee, whereby Mohammad Youssuf Abdulazeez allegedly drove up to one office and opened fire from inside his car before going to a second military center, where he was able to fatally shoot four Marines and one sailor. News quickly spread that the military personnel were unable to defend themselves via policies mandating gun free zones on U.S. military bases, recruitment offices, etc., so citizens stepped in to fill the gap.

The military blog This Ain’t Hell published the USAREC letter in full; here is a pertinent excerpt:

Recruiters will not acknowledge the presence or interact with these civilians. If questioned by these alleged concerned citizens; be polite, professional, and terminate the conversation immediately and report the incident to local law enforcement and complete USAREC Form 958 IAW USAREC 190-4 (SIR)

A similar posture has been struck by Marine recruitment offices in some parts of the country.

Kentucky Gun Store Declares Itself “Muslim-Free”

The owners of an Eastern Kentucky gun shop made their feelings known this week, by hanging a sign that’s causing quite a bit of controversy. However, the Letcher County store owners said it’s their First Amendment Right to declare their business “Muslim free.”

“It just says Muslim Free gun shop,” said Jill Stidham. She and her husband own Jace Firearms. However, their few short words are causing quite a stir in Whitesburg.

“That’s not freedom of speech, that is discrimination,” said Anthony Stamper, as he walked past the store.

“He’s an American and he’s got his rights and he can do what he wants to,” added Jordan Reynolds as he walked past the business.

Right or wrong, the owners of Jace firearms said it’s their right to say what they want.

“We have the right to freedom of speech, we are trying to stand up for our country,” said Jill.

“I’m not racist, I don’t want to be discriminative of people. But, I agreed with the gentleman in Florida,” said William.

Stidham said after the mass shooting in Tennessee, where  four Marines and a Navy sailor were killed, a Florida gun shop’s video went viral stating they were becoming a “Muslim free zone.” The Kentucky couple agreed with the decision and followed suit.

“I can’t tell them not to come in here. I am not going to do that. I am not going to threaten anybody or put anybody out, but I think it’s my right to say that I don’t want them in here,” said William.

FK – What group is letting the fundie ragheads and illegals enter our country because they want their votes? Who are our real enemies? Hint: They have white skin, were mostly born here and aren’t hiding in a cave on the other side of the world.

It’s time for those who claim to love Liberty to grow up and grow a backbone and prepare to do what will be required.

Legislators Lining up to Repeal the Military Gun Ban

The recent terrorist attack on military servicemen in Tennessee is the latest tragedy inflicted on our service members stationed in the United States.

And unless Congress acts, it won’t be the last.

While open and concealed carry laws have sent crime among the civilian population plunging, violent killings on military bases has exploded since Bill Clinton made them gun-free zones in 1993.

34 people have been gunned down on military bases under Obama alone. Another 55 have been wounded.

Neither NBC News nor USA Today could find mass shootings at military bases before the ban was imposed in the early 1990s.

It’s gotten so bad, armed civilians are now protecting our military.

And now terrorist groups like ISIS are planning more attacks on military bases here in the United States.

It’s time to stop the madness.

Armed Chattanooga Marine First Raised on Vanderboegh Blog

“The FBI has recovered a pistol that may have been privately owned and used by one of the Marines killed here Thursday during the shooting at the Navy Operational Support Center, according to law enforcement officials,” The Washington Post reported Monday. ‘Investigators are trying to determine, based on forensics, whether the pistol, a 9mm Glock, was used in an exchange with the shooter, Mohammad Youssef Abdulazeez, and possibly wounded him, officials said.”

That’s been corroborated and elaborated on by a Tuesday Navy Times report claiming “Sources: Navy officer, Marine fought to take out Chattanooga gunman.

“It’s also unclear why they were armed, as it is against Defense Department policy for anyone other than military police or law enforcement to carry weapons on federal property,” that report points out.
