FK – It’s easier to be manipulated than to think and stand on your own. The price is too high for most of the herd animals. If someone or some thing is using fear to rule you, that’s the problem. I don’t regret that some of my ancestors conquered the lands of some of my other ancestors. I don’t like the way it was done. We have a Bill of Rights because of what they did. That’s what makes us ‘exceptional.’
FK – Of course it’s fantasy to claim that whatever ‘disclosure,’ however defined, would automatically solve all our problems and make the various versions, sub-versions and subversions play nice with each other. The religions would find some verse that applies or re-write their books, scrolls, whatever as religion is always cultural anyway.
All the isms will seek to control, dominate, this issue to their advantage. Most of them simply haven’t been forced to yet.
Blue beam has been discussed for years. I don’t doubt some apparatchik dreamed up such a thing. Project Blue Book is another example of govt. duplicity, but that doesn’t negate this very real phenomena that’s been a part of human experience for a very long time, possibly since our beginnings, if it wasn’t a part of our beginnings.

The real question may be are we someone’s ant farm, petri-dish, nature preserve or farm, or all the above?
The municipalities are scrambling due to Act 192, signed into law last year by Gov. Tom Corbett (R). As outlined in the language of the law, member groups such as the NRA can stand in for local citizens in challenging ordinances in court that exceed the state’s own gun laws.
The gun rights group at the time called the bill “the strongest firearms preemption statute in the country” and a “much-needed protection for gun owners in the Keystone State.”
In the scant weeks since its enactment, towns from one side of the state to the other have dusted off their laws and evaluated them for compliance.

FK – The evil gun laws, that should ‘all’ be repealed, already ban youth from carrying handguns. If a 16-year-old has the responsibility to drive a 2000 lb vehicle down the highway that same young adult has the right to defend herself.
Two weeks ago, under the headline “How we are being tricked by flawed data on global warming”, I wrote about Paul Homewood, who, on his Notalotofpeopleknowthat blog, had checked the published temperature graphs for three weather stations in Paraguay against the temperatures that had originally been recorded. In each instance, the actual trend of 60 years of data had been dramatically reversed, so that a cooling trend was changed to one that showed a marked warming.

A driverless car probably won’t cause the accident. It could easily be an inattentive driver rear ending the driverless car at an intersection. But as soon as that first incident occurs, the ensuing insurance claim and potential lawsuit will create ripples across multiple industries.
When a human is not making driving decisions, who is really at fault? The manufacturer of the car? The manufacturer of the components in the car that process the data? The programmers who wrote the code? The driver who put their faith in the car and did not intervene in time? Should auto insurance policies become product liability policies?
This event will have broad implications, as drones, robots, sensor networks and other “human-less” technologies open up new areas of risk (and insurance) that today’s companies are not equipped to handle.
FK – I can’t imagine allowing the computers we have now being allowed to make all the multitude of decisions necessary in every situation. This stuff might be worthwhile on the interstate in a special lane. But it will turn driving into hell as every car on the road is forced to stick to posted speed limits and to ‘recommendations’ for curves, etc. What a nightmare this may be if the bureaucrats are allowed to control it.
One plus may be that old people might actually move at the speed limit instead of mindlessly expecting everyone else to be stuck behind them for miles on end.
Have you been to a modern church wedding recently? If you have, as the pastor pronounced the bride and groom as husband and wife, you probably heard him say, “As an officer of the laws of the State of (your State) and in the presence of God…I now pronounce you man (or husband) and wife.”
The IRS 501c3 non-profit organization status for churches (instituted in 1954) has turned pastors and church officers into corporate officers of the state–and most pastors and church leaders KNOW it–even if they are unwilling to admit it.
It’s all about preserving the church’s non-profit status so contributors can deduct their offerings on income tax forms and so that the church doesn’t have to pay sales taxes on what they purchase or property taxes on what they own. And whatever pastors and church officers are required by the state to do in order to preserve that non-profit status, they will comply.

Our own federal government put the Taliban in power, put Al Qaeda in power, and put ISIS in power. Our federal government often uses war and conflict to cover up its own murderous activity or to kill the very people that they formerly gave arms to, supported, befriended, etc. Whether one wants to believe it or not, most of the conflict in the Middle East has been caused by our own government. We are our own worst enemy. How convenient that we make Muslim people everywhere the straw man to divert attention away from the real criminals.
Yes, the American Church has a BIG problem: much of it is filled with HATE. To be sure, Christians are instructed to hate “evil,” but nowhere are we instructed to hate people–any people. Yet, the hatred of Muslims by Christians in America appears to be epidemic.
Hatred is a cancer. Hatred, bitterness, resentment, bigotry, etc., kill the soul. When Jesus instructed us to love our enemies, it was NOT for our enemies’ sake; it was for OUR sake. How can God bless a hate-filled Church when He commands us to love our enemies? How can He bless warmongers when he tells us that it is peacemakers who are blessed?
FK – We won’t begin to fix our problems until we abandon blind faith, because that’s what got us into this mess and it won’t get us out, and until we cease choosing among the various forms of authoritarianism. I don’t expect to be here long enough to see that happen.

In this case a good walking stick alone might have saved her life, but not without a honed and practiced survival instinct that would have caused her to fight/bluff and not run as the ‘experts’ suggest was the ultimate problem. So-called ‘experts’ who are ‘surprised’ or shocked when predators do what comes natural aren’t worth the paper their degrees are stamped on.
