In a post on the nyfirearms.com forum entitled, “NY State Police Just Came to My Home and Took Everything,” a Nassau County man describes how he received a visit from State Police who wanted to inspect the serial number of a semi-automatic rifle he had just purchased.

“I brought him to my safe, opened it and the 2nd officer went in and took out my cx4, Remington 70 sps and Remington 870 shotgun. Then he says that I had a misdemeanor possession charge 15 years ago and all the guns will be taken,” the man wrote, adding that he was put through the FBI’s National Instant Criminal Background Check System when he purchased the guns with no issues.

The post elicited a huge response from other forum members who encouraged the man to get a lawyer while advising them that he shouldn’t have allowed cops to enter his home without a warrant. Others said the case highlighted how “registration leads to confiscation.”

The man now faces having to get permission from a judge in order to have his firearms returned.

The National Security Agency (NSA) conducts warrantless surveillance of millions of people around the world and very little of it has anything to do with stopping terrorism.

Not that this is any sort of revelation to those who pay attention to the contraction of constitutional liberty, but recent reports from mainstream news outlets are highlighting not only the vacuuming up of metadata in violation of the Fourth Amendment, but the use of Section 702 of the FISA Amendments Act to justify untold spying operations carried out under cover of this federal statute.

Some light is being shed on these activities lately with the release this week of the report published by the Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board (PCLOB). The Guardian reports that the information revealed in this report “gives Americans a fairly detailed look unclassified at how the NSA spies through its notorious Prism program — and how it snoops ‘upstream’ (a euphemism for the agency’s direct access to entire internet streams at telecoms like AT&T). The board issued a scathing report on the Patriot Act surveillance months ago, but oddly they went the opposite route this time around.”

Reuters also quoted a statement made on CNN’s State of the Union program by Representative Henry Cuellar (D-Texas), whose congressional district includes a stretch of the Texas-Mexico border where 48,000 people, including 9,700 unaccompanied children, were detained in May. “We should have been ready for this surge,” said Cuellar. “The administration should have been ready…. They should have seen this coming a long time ago.”

On This Week, Gov. Perry was asked by the show’s host, Martha Raddatz, “Do you really believe there’s some sort of conspiracy to get people into the United States by the federal government, by the Obama administration?”

Perry’s reply was straightforward: “I have to believe that when you don’t respond in any way that you are either inept or you have some ulterior motive … which you are functioning from.”

Perry made similar comments during a June 17 interview on Fox & Friends: “This president, I will suggest, is either totally and absolutely inept, or making some decisions that are not in the best interests of American citizens.”

During Sunday’s interview, Perry also pointed out another threat stemming from our unprotected borders: “We also have a record high of other than Mexicans being apprehended at the border. The Senate floor battle has now opened on the fake “pro-gun” bill designed to reelect endangered anti-gun Democrats up in 2014 in pro-gun states.

That bill is S. 2363, sponsored by anti-gun crazy Sen. Kay Hagan (D-NC), with the chief cosponsors being endangered anti-gunners who are Mark Begich (D-AK), Mark Pryor (D-AR), Mary Landrieu (D-LA), Mark Udall (D-CO), Mark Warner (D-VA) and Al Franken (D-MN).

By now, even the dumbest Senators realize that this bill is nothing but a political ploy to keep Harry Reid (D-NV) and Obama’s cronies in power in the Senate. An article in The Hill newspaper made this clear yesterday:

“The legislation is meant to help several red-state Democrats in tough reelection races this year. Co-sponsors include four other Dems who, like Hagan, are facing difficult reelection races this year: Sens. Mark Pryor (Ark.), Mark Begich (Alaska), Mary Landrieu (La.) and Mark Udall (Colo.).”

Contact your Senators and urge them to vote for the Cornyn, Paul, Cruz, Wicker, and Lee amendments.  And, if Harry Reid tries to shut out amendments, ask them to oppose cloture on the bill.

FK – Dumb voters are what give the commies power. Time to require proof of citizenship, literacy in English and a test to prove knowledge of American history and government to vote. Many to most of the parasites wouldn’t bother.
