How Facebook Can Manipulate the November Election

What could be wrong, though, with increasing voter participation? First, some would point out that people who are Facebook oriented — people who spend more time on social networks — might be inordinately liberal. Others, such as John Stossel and me, have asserted that encouraging generally apathetic, disengaged citizens who wouldn’t otherwise vote to cast ballots simply increases the number of low-information voters at election time. Yet there is another problem, as Zittrain explains:

Now consider a hypothetical, hotly contested future election. Suppose that Mark Zuckerberg personally favors whichever candidate you don’t like. He arranges for a voting prompt to appear within the newsfeeds of tens of millions of active Facebook users — but unlike in the 2010 experiment, the group that will not receive the message is not chosen at random. Rather, Zuckerberg makes use of the fact that Facebook “likes” can predict political views and party affiliation, even beyond the many users who proudly advertise those affiliations directly. With that knowledge, our hypothetical Zuck chooses not to spice the feeds of users unsympathetic to his views. Such machinations then flip the outcome of our hypothetical election. Should the law constrain this kind of behavior?

Professor Zittrain calls this “digital gerrymandering,” which is when a website disseminates information in a way that promotes its own political agenda. Any site can do this, and it’s quite insidious because Web users will generally be unaware of the manipulation. After all, would you know it if a social network simply didn’t send you a voting graphic that a certain targeted group received (I rarely even view my Facebook page)? Zittrain’s article title says it all: “Facebook Could Decide an Election Without [sic] Anyone Ever Finding Out.”

FK – ‘Friends’ don’t let ‘friends’ use facebook.

Is this a viable alternative? I may sign up and find out just how much reality they can stand. I’m not counting on being on there very long. I was a patriot and militiamen before the ‘tea parties’ were cool and ‘tea partiers’ are generally only a couple notches above your average golf playing Dubya voter.

Snr. Editorialist at The Hill says Democrats now facing a potentially “catastrophic” mid-term elections

And the now soon-to-be-famous line at the distinguished Washington D.C. insider’s political publication The Hill, “Clinton hurt 2014 Dems”:

Democrats face potentially catastrophic midterm elections that could leave Republicans and conservatives in control of the House, the Senate and the Supreme Court. Yet while Democrats face a political state of emergency, Hillary Clinton this week launched an aggressive preemptive attack — not against Republicans but against Barack Obama, the Democratic president she served as secretary of State, employing lines of attack eerily reminiscent of attacks against Democrats from former Vice President Dick Cheney. (Emphasis added.)

FK – I must disagree with torturing the evil elected public servants or intentionally targeting their families. Doing so makes us no better than what we claim to oppose. There will be plenty of ‘collateral damage’ in the coming war as it is. Unfortunately the beast system doesn’t care who or what it kills here or over seas in the name of preserving itself.

Big Media “Journalists” Exposed in Secret Progressive Network

Does it ever seem like many American self-styled “journalists” in the establishment media are parroting talking points from the same “progressive” script? It is probably because they are. The watchdog group Media Trackers recently announced that it had discovered a secret network of more than 1,000 radical Big Government activists that includes more than a few prominent individuals masquerading as objective news reporters at major press outlets. Lobbyists, fringe political activists, climate alarmists, Democrat Party operatives, and Big Labor are also all represented in the group, which has as its declared mission to create a “more coordinated” movement for leftists to take over America.

Many of the self-described “progressives” strategizing together behind the scenes with other far-left bigwigs work for top establishment media outlets such as CNN, the Washington Post, the online Huffington Post, Reuters, the New York Times, Al Jazeera America, U.S. News & World Report, The Nation magazine, and more. Even a brief review of their work reveals that numerous “journalists” and media types active in the previously secret network regularly promote fellow members and their causes — without disclosing their behind-the-scenes links to each other. The scheming would seem to be a violation of basic journalistic ethics.

FK – This has been obvious for years to those who pay attention. The newswhores aren’t the only problem:

FK – As I wrote in the last update, I don’t find this surprising at all. Most amerikans are conscienceless cowardly whores who fully deserve what’s coming. The preachers and newshores are the biggest whores of all.

Texas Sheriff: Groups of Armed Illegal Immigrants in His County

Larry Spence, who has been sheriff of Willacy County in South Texas for 29 years, said that farmers there have reported seeing gangs of armed men in their fields.

In an interview with MailOnline (the website of Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper), Spence said ranchers as far as 25 miles north of the border have reported groups of men in military fatigues and armed with rifles walking single file across their land. The men are believed to be illegal immigrants.

“About three or four months ago we had an individual who saw people walking through farm property in military fatigues, with backpacks,” Spence told MailOnline, adding,

He went out and asked them, “Who are you?” [and] they said, “What’s it to you?” He said he owned the property and they said, “Well you better get out of here.” Sensibly he left and called us, but by the time we got out there, they were gone.

We’ve had people say they’ve seen groups going through the fields in single file, with rifles as well.

FK – Sounds like it may be time to ‘shoot, shovel and shut up.’

Mitch surges to a solid lead over Alison even with a Libertarian Party spoiler in the race

Oopsie. There goes Democrats’ hopes that the Libertarian Party candidate would steal enough votes from Mitch McConnell to sway the election to Alison Lundergan-Grimes.

Leftwing political blogs had been abuzz last few days with news that the Libertarians had qualified for the ballot in Kentucky. (They needed 5,000 signatures and turned-in north of 9,000). The LPKY managed to recruit a pretty solid candidate – clean cut, well-spoken, former cop. And there is some solid evidence now, that the Libertarian would influence the race.

FK – Not so sure a McConnell loss would be such a bad thing. Things will have to get much worse before the sheeple wake up to what will be required.

Caught without any camouflage clothing. What to do.

FK – Not sure the ‘kelly green’ is the way to go, especially in winter when browns and grays predominate and change according to moisture and cloud cover. Buy clothing with ‘subdued’ colors that easily blend in with nature. Cotton is not good in the winter. Some polyesters, rayon and wool wick moisture away from the body.
