Also giving a thumbs ups were NRA A-raters John Barrasso, Roy Blunt, Richard Burr, Saxby Chambliss, the aforementioned Coburn, Thad Cochran, Bob Corker, Mike Enzi, Jeff Flake, Orrin Hatch, Dean Heller, John Isakson, Mike Johanns, Ron Johnson, Jerry Moran, Lisa Murkowski, Pat Roberts, John Thune, Patrick Toomey, and Roger Wicker.

How New York’s New Gun Control Law Is Working Out (Hint: Not Great)

FK – How do they always manage to skirt around the big issue: Why the authoritarian trash wants us disarmed – so we can’t kill them when enough finally wake up to the necessity of doing so?

Let’s see this ‘law’ passed in every state and on the federal level:

Any elected public servant who votes for a law without reading it is immediately arrested, tried for treason and executed.

And see every wanna-be elected public servant make this promise:

“If elected, I will not vote for any law I haven’t read and will vote against any law I haven’t been given time to read.”

Let’s not hold our breath. We’ll be breathing hard on many occasions before this happens, in the process of doing what will be required.

The Obama administration has released a huge majority of illegal immigrant children who poured over the U.S.-Mexico border earlier this year into dozens of tony counties without notifying the public, while deporting just 280, according to new reports.

The Health and Human Services Department released a list of 126 counties 29,890 of the kids were placed into, sometimes with their parents who are also in the United States illegally.

Those counties include some of the most exclusive in the nation, including the Washington suburbs of Fairfax and Loudoun in Virginia and Howard and Montgomery in Maryland. Fairfax received 1,023.

We recently noted that ostensibly “conservative” David Frum blames the militarization of police on widespread gun ownership by private citizens (or by “the policed”–Frum’s term for theoretically free citizens). This is becoming a popular theme of late, to the joy, no doubt, of the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence.

Writing for the New Republic, Alec MacGillis has jumped enthusiastically aboard that bandwagon, with his “Libertarians Who Oppose a Militarized Police Should Support Gun Control—But They Don’t, of Course.”

MacGillis’ explanation as to why libertarians should support the violation of the right to the means of defending one’s liberty is a bit convoluted. Basically, the fact that most Americans can own firearms–including guns well suited for rather “unsportsmanlike” activities like self-defense and resisting tyranny–makes cops “on edge” (MacGillis’ term) . . . and thus apparently justifies teargassing and arresting journalists, aiming sniper rifles at citizens with their hands up, and screaming obscenities at them:(click on link above)

FK – The sheeple need to learn how to pay attention and how to help themselves and not wait on some fairytale to come save them.

The major domestic ammunition makers have been producing more ammunition than ever. They are all up in terms of total production—double, and in some areas, triple-digit increases. They are all running three shifts. And when it comes to center-fire cartridges, at least of three of the big makers are caught up and beginning to load either new products, line extensions or specialty loads. Previously, lower-demand chambering or atypical bullet weights or styles were shelved due the time it took to change over the tooling. Now, on the center-fire side, anyway, the manufacturers can start to really catch up to demand and get to cartridge producing they have not loaded in two years.

But not on rimfire. Affordable .22 Long Rifle in particular remains like a Bigfoot sighting. Despite running three shifts—I recently talked with Federal Premium’s Tim Brandt specifically about this—rimfire capacity is at its maximum at the Federal Premium Anoka, Minn., and CCI, Lewiston, Idaho, plants. The other rimfire makers in the United States (and some overseas) tell me the same thing. Maximum production is coming out of all them. And it is not enough. Demand for .22 Long Rifle still exceeds production capacity.
