Dear Friend of the Second Amendment:

Anti-gun activist David Petraeus is under consideration for the position of Secretary of State in the Trump administration.

Although Petraeus seldom speaks publicly on domestic issues, he hates guns so much that he teamed up with anti-gun leader Mark Kelly and his wife, Gabrielle Giffords, to co-found the Veterans Coalition for Common Sense, an anti-gun organization devoted to “do[ing] more to prevent gun tragedies” by “urging lawmakers to toughen gun laws.”

Not surprisingly, the Leftist media is elated that a gun-hater like Petraeus might be awarded the top Cabinet post by Trump.This is true even though Petraeus, in November 2012, resigned as CIA Director and pleaded guilty to leaking classified information to a biographer with whom he was having an extramarital affair.

But Petraeus’ “Clinton-like” disregard for American security is the least of his problems.

As Secretary of State, Petraeus would play a key role in deciding whether to remove the U.S. from the UN Arms Trade Treaty (UN ATT). This agreement would mandate gun registration, and would authorize comprehensive gun bans — all goals supported by Petraeus’ colleagues Kelly and Giffords.

Petraeus would effectively decide whether to push for ratification of the anti-gun UN Small Arms Treaty.

Finally, Petraeus would have jurisdiction over the international trade (ITAR) regulations. Under Clinton/Kerry “guidance,” these regulations have been expanded to outlaw gunsmithing. In addition, a gun technician who communicates “how-to” information about guns on the Internet (without purchasing a $2,250 State Department license) could be prosecuted and imprisoned.

The House leadership is pressuring Representatives to oppose Constitutional Carry reciprocity.

To combat this, I personally communicated with House offices yesterday.

I told them that the only acceptable concealed carry reciprocity bill is one that protects the over 20% of states which have enacted Constitutional Carry.

And so now, I need you to communicate the same message to your Congressman:

1. If concealed carry reciprocity comes to a vote, it MUST contain protection for Constitutional Carry.

2. More and more states are recognizing Constitutional Carry.  It is now the law in more than one-fifth of the country (11 states) — and more states are expected to enact it by year’s end.

This is not a fleeting issue. More and more Americans are demanding that their state honor the Second Amendment.

With your help this month, we have been able to get more than half-a-dozen new cosponsors to legislation that will protect Constitutional Carry and reciprocity.

The bill is HR 923, and it now has over 65 cosponsors.

This legislation will protect your right to carry concealed outside of your home state, whether you live in a Constitutional Carry state or not.

But the fact that it would protect citizens from Constitutional Carry states — enabling these gun owners to carry around the country without getting permits — is what makes HR 923 THE BEST reciprocity bill in the House of Representatives.

Currently, there are 11 states that have permitless carry, and even more states are looking to join the “Constitutional Carry” club.

GOA Alert: Should Your Right to Carry End at the State Border?

Stutzman & Cornyn Bills Treat the 2nd Amendment as Your Concealed Carry Permit

Sources inside Congress have told GOA that they may soon be taking up a concealed carry reciprocity bill.

If enacted, this legislation would mean that your right to carry would no longer end at your state border.

It would mean we would be one step closer to enjoying the full protections of the Second Amendment, which says the right to keep and bear arms “shall not be infringed.”

To this end, Gun Owners of America is supporting H.R. 923 and S. 498 — legislation introduced by Rep. Marlin Stutzman (R-IN) and Senator John Cornyn (R-TX).

H.R. 923 and S. 498 are the best reciprocity bills in the Congress.  Yes, there are similar bills, but they don’t protect citizens who travel from Constitutional Carry states.

As we reported last week, there are now ten Constitutional Carry states in the union — states that have passed laws which don’t require gun owners to get permission to exercise their constitutionally-protected rights or to be registered like sex offenders.

I agree that the initial action was foolish, misguided, maybe intentionally by instigators or idiots or both take your pick. But this event has put this issue all over the world. In short, it won’t be an easy or short fight. For a time it may or probably will look as if the evil ones are winning. If we seek to fight them in the open on a large scale they probably will win. If we focus on eroding their foundations, another outcome may be possible. But make no mistake, it will be forced upon us, and even if it’s not we are fools for not expecting it to be and for making every possible preparation.

But then we don’t have a nation of men anymore, but a nation of cowardly whores and even the so-called pre-eminent ‘pro-gun’ group can’t find the backbone to publicly state what will be required.

I was involved in the patriot movement in the 90s when the OK City bombing went down. I saw the patriot/militia movement deflate because of that. That’s because this is a nation of cowards. But even after that we still had a militia movement of sorts but it’s never been what it should be and making it what it should be is what we need to focus on. To do that we have to get over our fear of the ‘m’ word that’s actually in the Second Amendment.

When the metal meets the meat it’ll be about who has the courage to at least show up or act on their own in whatever way they can not about who’s ‘official.’ Most of the ‘officials’ are whores.

It’s not about what we want. It’s about what will be required.

The patriot movement won’t grow up until it learns to do three things:
