What’s amazing about all this is these parents, for whatever faults they may have, are putting far more thought into their time in this world than the average dumbass ever will, with their ‘normal’ home, mortgage, big screen weaponvision, bass boat, whatever. Simple fact. In Chicago, where even the teachers’ union has blasted the federal takeover, school officials were threatened with the loss of more than $1 billion in state and federal “education aid” if not enough students were successfully coerced into taking the Common Core-aligned tests. I count my college years as some of the best of my life, but at that time I didn’t understand how my Marxist/ignorant professors weren’t teaching what really mattered.
Students who borrow should be required to submit some kind of a business plan: future job projections, future possible earnings, etc. But even more the whole ‘college experience’ needs to change. Get the Marxist professors out of the classrooms. They don’t belong in this country much less as indoctrinators of young people. Lots of courses could be taught online, for affordable prices. Testing could involve what students know, not regurgitating paragraphs at random.

FK – I was a Marine reservist ’84 – ’92. The summer before the ‘Gulf War’ broke out we underwent POW training. I was drilling with a combat MP unit at that time so that would’ve been normal except that I felt even at that time that they knew what was coming.
