The new book is titled “The Future of the Gun,” by New York Times bestselling author Frank Miniter. According to the Washington Examiner’s veteran political writer Paul Bedard, the Obama administration “likely (missed) any chance of a historic deal” on gun-related violent crime. He writes that “two of the country’s leading gun lobbies stood ready to work with the White House, but instead were pushed away by an administration that wrongly thought the country was on their side in banning assault weapons.”

The two firearms groups were the National Rifle Association and National Shooting Sports Foundation. When representatives of those groups eventually were invited to sit down, sources told Examiner at the time last year that instead of a conversation, they were essentially given a lecture by Vice President Joe Biden.

For many years, the portrait of an unbending, tone-deaf “gun lobby” has been promulgated by gun prohibitionists and their media cheerleaders. Gottlieb took a lot of heat for trying to negotiate background check reform legislation at the federal and state levels in 2013, both times pulling out when it became clear that nobody was interested in compromise, but only telling gun owners to give something up.

Gross hypocrisy: Brady Campaign head talks gun control with armed security

The weak in-state gun rights group, the Gun Owners’ Action League, accepted the law as an appeasement measure, an important milestone in GOAL’s slide to irrelevance. GOAL’s point was that the original draft language was even worse, so this bill was a win, and MA subjects gain a right to have their denial heard by a judge, and — whoopie-do — won’t need the new may-issue FID Card for pepper spray. Clearly, their chains rest lightly upon their shoulders, and their manacles are but a sign of how much their Master values them.

Boston Police Chief Evans celebrated the law, and intends to use it to deny long gun licenses (“Firearms Owner ID Cards”) and gun registration to all but the police and those connected to organized crime — in Boston, two sets with a big intersection. He also plans to “review” existing FOIDs, with a view to revoking most of them.

FK – Sounds like their ‘gun rights group’ might have too many NRA members.

If we had the militia force we should have and that the ‘No Rights that aren’t Allowed’ group should have helped build by now we could go in force to that shit hole, erect the granite gallows so desperately needed there and commence the treason trials.

The latest strategy being implemented in Texas adds a significant tactic that was not necessary or expedient in other states. The “progressives” are actively using the assault of illegal aliens to their benefit. As the color coded map shows in Culver’s article, Texas is ground zero. Most of the bombardment of the country from the southern border is taking place in Texas. And although the illegal aliens are being shipped all across America, most of them stay put in Texas. The reason is not far to find. This tactic is now part of the “progressive” goal used by Democrats to seize power in Texas. The Democrats have discovered, based upon experience in the recent past, that the more illegal aliens they allow into the country the more likely they are to benefit from their votes, legal or not. The interlopers who are here for nothing more than the freebies will vote for Democrats.

When one tracks down the intent of these U.S. turncoats who are deliberately unleashing illegals on a red state, the truth is enough to make one sick to the stomach. It is the intention of the Obama administration and the Democratic Party, the Republican leadership, and a large segment of the Libertarian Party to “wash out” traditional American culture in deeply red states such as Texas. This is being accomplished by bombarding these states with as many illegals as possible, illegals that have no knowledge of our history, no regard for our Constitution, and no intention of being assimilated into the American culture. A large number of these illegals do not even believe that the entire U.S. southwest belongs to America. They see California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas as Mexican land, and they intent to take it back.

That 90% of America’s pastors are not addressing any of the salient issues affecting Christian people’s political or societal lives should surprise no one–especially the readers of this column. It has been decades since even a sizeable minority of pastors have bothered to educate and inform their congregations as to the Biblical principles relating to America’s political, cultural, and societal lives. But the part of the research that did somewhat surprise me was this statement by Barna: “What we’re finding is that when we ask them about all the key issues of the day, [90 percent of them are] telling us, Yes, the Bible speaks to every one of these issues. Then we ask them: Well, are you teaching your people what the Bible says about those issues?–and the numbers drop…to less than 10 percent of pastors who say they will speak to it.”

Did you get that? Ninety-percent of America’s pastors say they KNOW that the Bible speaks to all of these issues, but they are deliberately determined to NOT teach these Biblical principles. That is an amazing admission!

Regardless, the case could be made that the sheriff’s further claim, “only 1 percent of law enforcement members ever have to fire their gun in response to a crime,” makes it fair to ask why his deputies need guns. After all, in the next location to Flagler County’s east, Bermuda, police are typically unarmed and only true professionals, like Michael Bloomberg’s bodyguards, “need” to regularly carry firearms.

“He helped to clarify that gun control is important and that he wants to keep the people under him safe,” Merrill Shapiro, the interim leader of the local Democratic Progressive Caucus of Florida bleated, letting slip the Prozi view of the proper relationship between disarmed citizens and armed enforcers by his reflexive use of the term “under.”

The safety praise curious, because it’s not exactly like Manfre had established himself as particularly authoritative — or even competent — when it comes to guns.

“Flagler County Sheriff Jim Manfre has not qualified for his law enforcement firearms certification, even though he attended an in-service training class two weeks ago,” a July 31 report reveals.

In the summer of 2013, after neighborhood watchman George Zimmerman, a Hispanic, was acquitted in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, an unarmed black teenager, the political left wanted to have a discussion about everything except the black crime rates that lead people to view young black males with suspicion. Presi­dent Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder wanted to talk about gun control. The NAACP wanted to talk about racial profiling. Assorted academics and MSNBC talking heads wanted to discuss poverty, “stand-your-ground” laws, unemployment and the supposedly racist criminal justice system. But any candid debate on race and criminality in the United States must begin with the fact that blacks are responsible for an astoundingly disproportionate number of crimes, which has been the case for at least the past half a century.

Crime began rising precipitously in the 1960s after the Supreme Court, under Chief Justice Earl Warren, started tilting the scales in favor of the criminals. Some 63 percent of respondents to a Gallup poll taken in 1968 judged the Warren Court, in place from 1953 to 1969, too lenient on crime; but Warren’s jurisprudence was sup­ported wholeheartedly by the liberal intellectuals of that era, as well as by politicians who wanted to shift blame for criminal behavior away from the criminals. Popular books of the time, like Karl Menninger’s “The Crime of Punishment,” argued that “law and order” was an “inflammatory” term with racial overtones. “What it really means,” said Menninger, “is that we should all go out and find the n–– and beat them up.”

Reports of an active shooter are always “breaking news,” until a concealed carry holder shows up to diffuse the situation.

Then, all one hears is … well, crickets.  They go silent.

That’s exactly what happened on July 24 in Darby, Pennsylvania, when a doctor saved countless lives after he incapacitated a patient who had armed himself, walked past the gun-free zone sign and gunned down a case worker.

Next on the killer’s hit list was the doctor himself.

But what the gunman, Richard Potts, hadn’t counted on was that his intended target, Dr. Lee Silverman, had defied hospital policy and was carrying a gun of his own.
