“The Pitchforks Are Coming… For Us Plutocrats,” Seattle-based “One-Percenter” Nick Hanauer writes in an open letter on Politico to his “fellow zillionaires.” He’s evidently feeling more than a little guilty about his wealth, and thinks he can make everything better and keep the mob he fears his fellow Americans have become from devouring him by raising the minimum wage.

That and making sure they’re disarmed. Hanauer, along with Bill Gates, was one of the privileged backers of Michael Bloomberg’s so-called “background check” initiative in Washington State.

I say “so-called”, because no less an authority than the National Institute of Justice has admitted the effectiveness of such a law “depends on the ability to reduce straw purchasing, requiring gun registration,” and, as we’ve seen time and again, that’s a necessary prerequisite for those bent on confiscation.

“I come from generations of progressive, atheist Jews, ” Hanauer tells The Seattle Times. “My family … got chased out of Germany by Hitler,” he reveals in his previously-linked open letter.

December 15 is Bill of Rights Day, Russia’s Sputnik.com reported Monday. It commemorates the ratification of the first 10 amendments to the Constitution, adopted to allay anti-Federalist fears and to ostensibly guarantee individual rights off-limits to government abridgement.

The day, first proclaimed by President Franklin Roosevelt in 1941 to commemorate the 1791 ratification, is receiving scant media attention. A Google News feed search at this writing places Sputnik International at the top of the list. Similarly, searches of major newspapers like The New York Times and The Washington Post have archives of past stories, but nothing listed under their respective “Today’s Paper” sections. A search for “Bill of Rights Day “ at The Los Angeles Times produces hits for employer healthcare quality control and internet porn, among other returns.

FK – Are we surprised? That holiday should be second in importance, right after April 19, the day they shot back, an effort that will eventually be required.

The chant erupted across the nation and around the world at demonstrations (and riots) in response to a St. Louis County grand jury’s decision not to indict white police officer Darren Wilson in the shooting death of Michael Brown, a black man, in Ferguson, Missouri. It was heard again following the vote of a New York grand jury not to indict a police officer in the death of Eric Garner, and again when Attorney General Eric Holder addressed a crowd in Atlanta, Georgia.

Is it merely a coincidence, a fluke, that this slogan echoes the most famous lines of Karl Marx’s Communist Manifesto? “Communists everywhere support every revolutionary movement against the existing social and political order of things,” Marx declared, in the concluding lines of his revolutionary tract. “The Communists disdain to conceal their views and aims,” he continued. “They openly declare that their ends can be attained only by the forcible overthrow of all existing social conditions. Let the ruling classes tremble at a Communistic revolution. The proletarians have nothing to lose but their chains…. Working Men of All Countries, Unite!”

Communist sloganeers condensed and paraphrased Marx’s wordy text into a catchier war cry that has accompanied tumults, riots, and revolutions on every continent since the Manifesto’s release in 1848: “Workers of the World, Unite. You have nothing to lose but your chains!”

Why are we allowing the amerikan communist insurgency the ‘right’ to work to overthrow the Bill of Rights? There is no such ‘right’ as working to enslave others. We should at the least be kicking them out of the country.

FK – If someone or some group or some thing claims you can’t ‘ask why’ then you know you have a serious problem. It’s time to get in their face and demand to know ‘why?’

Depending upon whose estimate one accepts, anywhere from 1,000 to perhaps 1,800 Second Amendment activists turned out for a midday rally opposing Initiative 594 in Olympia Saturday, while the Washington Arms Collectors’ monthly gun show at the Puyallup Fairgrounds drew a couple of thousand more looking for pre-Christmas deals, and answers to questions about the state’s new, and confusing, gun law.

In neither location did anybody stop traffic, smash windows or clash with police. Nobody was arrested. Nobody got hurt. A handful of people in Olympia burned their concealed pistol licenses at the end of the event.

The Olympia gathering was covered by local television. As an example of the fallout, more than 825 comments had been made on the KOMO website reacting to its coverage.

At the WAC show — which was scheduled months ago — there were repeated questions about potential lawsuits to overturn the 18-page gun control measure, passed Nov. 4. At the rally, people exchanged firearms in defiance of the new law, although law enforcement authorities suggested the law’s language about “transfers” may not have been in violation.
