The figures reveal that Florida has the highest number of concealed carry permits, at 1.3 million, with Texas a close second, at 708,000. Of the states, Hawaii has the lowest, with just 183.
A number of factors contributed to the rise in concealed carry permits, including new state laws. In March, Illinois became the 50th state to begin issuing concealed weapons permits.
FK- Allow me to finish the last sentence of this article: This is precisely why the Founding Fathers included the Second Amendment in the U.S. Constitution, preventing the federal government from infringing on the people’s natural right to defend themselves against tyrants in government and their goons on the street be they in uniform or not.
I’ve claimed for years and will continue to claim that the ‘crime’ argument is a red herring. Even if ‘gun control’ could be proven to reduce crime it would still be evil. The 2nd Amendment has nothing to do with common criminals or ducks, deer or dingos.
We need to bring back the Militias and make them a free-standing force whose primary responsibility is to arrest, try for treason and execute would-be tyrants who upon entering any elected, hired or appointed office and taking an oath to uphold the Bill of Rights would be immediately answerable to the militia for their actions.
That veto has also brought Christie some praise from gun rights advocates, such as the Tea Party Network News:
As America geared up for celebrating our Independence Day, New Jersey governor Chris Christie did something very American: he stood up to gun-grabbing tyrants.
On July 2nd, Christie vetoed A2006, a bill that would have limited firearm magazine capacities to 10 rounds in New Jersey.
FK – Every pres. election cycle proves the republicrat party is still full of brain dead idiots who will vote for whatever mainstream newswhore approved conscienceless blood sucker that’s telling them what they want to hear. Rah Rah ‘murica.
In a last minute letter to Capitol Hill today, Gun Owners of America told Senators that a vote to end the filibuster “will be viewed as a vote AGAINST veterans … AGAINST concealed carry reciprocity … and AGAINST preserving the gun industry.”
GOA also warned Senators that a vote in favor of S. 2363 would be scored in our end-of-year rating.
FK – Too bad enough can’t wake up to the necessity of vanquishing the American Communist Insurgency once and for all.
FK – That’s like saying the Jews in the concentration camps would have benefited from the building of a bowling alley and pool hall for their recreation. The republicrats ‘controlled’ the Congress and the now red house during the Dubya years and what did they do but spend more money and increase the police state? They will have to be looked at during the war crimes trials.
“I brought him to my safe, opened it and the 2nd officer went in and took out my cx4, Remington 70 sps and Remington 870 shotgun. Then he says that I had a misdemeanor possession charge 15 years ago and all the guns will be taken,” the man wrote, adding that he was put through the FBI’s National Instant Criminal Background Check System when he purchased the guns with no issues.
The post elicited a huge response from other forum members who encouraged the man to get a lawyer while advising them that he shouldn’t have allowed cops to enter his home without a warrant. Others said the case highlighted how “registration leads to confiscation.”
The man now faces having to get permission from a judge in order to have his firearms returned.
Not that this is any sort of revelation to those who pay attention to the contraction of constitutional liberty, but recent reports from mainstream news outlets are highlighting not only the vacuuming up of metadata in violation of the Fourth Amendment, but the use of Section 702 of the FISA Amendments Act to justify untold spying operations carried out under cover of this federal statute.
Some light is being shed on these activities lately with the release this week of the report published by the Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board (PCLOB). The Guardian reports that the information revealed in this report “gives Americans a fairly detailed look unclassified at how the NSA spies through its notorious Prism program — and how it snoops ‘upstream’ (a euphemism for the agency’s direct access to entire internet streams at telecoms like AT&T). The board issued a scathing report on the Patriot Act surveillance months ago, but oddly they went the opposite route this time around.”
FK – Such a system will inevitably collapse in upon itself.
FK – There are more parts to this vid. It takes a very naive individual to think that as racist as Americans were at that time that they set out to kill 600,000 people in order to free the black slaves. If you can’t un-volunteer from something you volunteered for, you’re a slave. Lincoln killed the republic and turned it into an empire. That war has long been part of the propaganda stream. The ameri-commies want to say the South was wrong because they owned slaves so they can say the Founders were wrong because they owned slaves. They want to claim Jefferson was wrong because he may have had a slave mistress. Jefferson was a classically educated genius but he was also a human being who lived in a different time and culture than we do but he had the ability to see beyond his time to a brighter future as many great men do.
FK – Jones is right ideologically but the reality is things will have to get much worse for Jim Bob to disengage his head from his nether regions and understand what will be required to fix this mess if it can be fixed. The Marxist mutt may yet hand us a clear reason, i.e. a reason the brain dead sheeple can’t miss or ignore, for “Liberal”(commie) trash season. That would be an opportunity I’d hate to see us miss.
